Physical activity and mental well-being are important components of modern-day sustainability principles, however improving the sustainability of facilities that support these activities can require unique solutions.  Facilities that cater to outdoor activities often have very little separation between indoor and outdoor spaces, requiring a specialized approach to envelope design.  For facilities that focus on indoor activities, process energy can be viewed as both a challenge and opportunity.  In all cases, providing a durable, sustainable facility supports the continued growth of healthy, vibrant communities.
